The Wray Community District Hospital is very excited to announce that we have a new payment processing company: Flywire!
Many of you may have noticed the new statements sent out the last couple of months, as well as the text and email updates about a new statement being available. We’ve received a handful of questions regarding these changes, so we wanted to take a moment and breakdown what you can expect from Flywire moving forward to ensure this transition is as seamless as possible.
One of the primary reasons that we made the change to Flywire is because of the features it provides to our patients, one of the most exciting being the ability to create payment plans online. Aside from that, Flywire also makes it easy to see all associated patient balances in one spot.
Below, we’ll breakdown the statement so that you can understand what you’re looking at with each statement.
The New Statements – A Breakdown
While the new statements have an updated appearance, you’re going to find the same information that you’re accustomed to seeing on previous statements. Here is a quick walkthrough of each section on the statements that you’ll receive in the mail.
Patient Balance – Amount Due
In the top right corner of the page, you will find the outstanding balance on file for all visits included in the statement that you’re receiving. This will not include visits that are still processing with insurance or recurring visits that are currently ongoing, such as physical therapy.
On the middle, left hand side of your statement you will see a breakdown of your account. This portion of the statement will provide a breakdown of the balance if a payment plan has been set up for the outstanding balance. If there is a payment plan in place, this will also provide you with the balance of visits that have not yet been added to the payment plan.
Directly below the Account Summary, you will see payment plan options available for the amount associated with the statement. This is just a quick snapshot of the options available. If a payment plan is something that you are interested in setting up for your outstanding balance, you will have additional options when completing a payment online or when speaking with a Patient Financial Counselor.
Directly to the right of this, you will see options for how to pay your bill. This includes making an online payment, paying over the phone, or if you’re using a smart phone, you can scan the QR code for a direct link to the website.
While these methods are listed on the statement, you are still able to mail in a check or credit card payment as well as walk in and make a payment directly with a Patient Financial Counselor. This payment coupon can be found at the very bottom of your statement.
Page 2+ of Your Statement
The following pages of your statement will provide a thorough breakdown of the visits listed on the statement. Here you can see an itemized cost as well as any associated insurance and patient payments that have been made for this particular visit.
Benefits of Flywire
It’s not easy to get adjusted to a new software, but we guarantee that there are so many perks to WCDH utilizing FlyWire for payment processing. Below are just a few of the benefits.
- Quick and easy online payments.
- Text and email updates & reminders.
- Ability to see all a family’s bills in one place.
- Payment plan creation & customization.
- Quick and easy payment capabilities.
Within the last few months, various patients who have made payments have said that the process of making a payment was easy and that they’ve loved the new options that FlyWire provides. The one change that has been the most notable with patients are the text and email notifications.
Text & Email Updates
On top of the paper statement that you receive in the mail, FlyWire also notifies patients of a bill through text and email updates. Text and email notifications are created at the same time that the statement is, but will be received prior to the physical statement. Reminders are sent out a couple of times throughout the month both via email and text. The links in both texts and emails can also direct you to the payment portal where you will be prompted to enter your zip code and date of birth.
If you’d like to adjust the number of notifications that you’re receiving, login to the payment portal. On the bottom right hand side of your desktop you will see ‘Manage Notifications’. From here you can turn email and text notifications on or off, add a new email or phone number, and enroll in paperless billing. If you need any additional assistance with this, our team of Patient Financial Counselors can help.
