About Pulmonary Rehab
Does your shortness of breath interfere with your quality of life? Would you like to do more than you can do today? We can help. The Pulmonary Rehab Program at the Wray Community District Hospital offers a comprehensive program for those with lung disease. Our team consists of RNs, CES, a Registered Dietician and a Diabetic Educator. We work with your Pulmonologist or Primary Physician to assist you in obtaining optimal physical, social and psychological well-being. Our goal is to help you do what you once could.
Programs offered by our Respiratory Therapist:
- Pulmonary Functions Test
- Asthma Management
- Methacholine Challenge Testing
- RSV Clinic
- Ventalation Management
Candidates
Most insurance companies will pay for some or all of Pulmonary Rehab if you have the following diagnosis: COPD, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Restrictive Lung Disease, Other lung diseases may also qualify. All patients need a referral from their physician in order to qualify. You may also need a Spirometry or Pulmonary Function Test to document the severity of your lung disease.
Education
Education is a key part of our program. We believe that the more you know about your specific disease, the better you can cope with it, both physically and mentally. Our focus is not only on the effects your disease has on your lungs and life, but what YOU can do to prevent the disease from getting worse. We follow the AACVPR and GOLD Guidelines and provide individual education about your lung disease.
Topics Include:
- Anatomy and Physiology of the lungs and your lung disease
- Risk factor modification
- Healthy eating
- Exacerbation management, including when to call your doctor.
- Medications-what they are for and how to use them correctly
- Relaxation and stress management
- Breathing techniques
- How to use your oxygen
- And more
Adult Fitness
The Adult Fitness Program is offered by the Wray Hospital as an alternative to Rehab. It is similar to the Pulmonary Rehab Program, but focuses primarily on fitness. It is not covered by insurance patients must pay a nominal monthly fee. This program is open to the public and is an excellent step-down from rehab. Many of our Rehab patietns “graduate” to this program.

Cardiac Rehab

About Cardiac Rehab
The Cardiac Rehab Program at Wray Hospital offers a comprehensive approach to the care and treatment of heart disease. This program is designed to help individuals who have cardiovascular disease, obtain an optimal physical, social, and psychological well-being.
Candidates
All clients must be referred by their physician and have one of the following diagnosis:
- Acute MI (heart attack) within the past 12 months
- Coronary Artery Bypass within the past 12 months
- Stable Angina Pectoris
- Heart valve repair or replacement
- Coronary angioplasty or stenting
- Heart or heart lung transplant
- Post pacemaker insertion
- PAD (peripheral artery disease)
- CHF
Education
Education is a key component to successful rehabilitation. This program focuses on education of heart disease and the development of healthy lifestyle changes that will help you enjoy long-term success.

Adult fitness program is offered for Cardiac Rehab patients as well.

Financial Coverage
